Defining Uptrend -
When we get higher pivot highs,we say the instrument is in uptrend.
To make the above line simple, understand it like this -
Suppose there is a pivot high at Rs 100 in a stock and market moves up, taken out this pivot high and formed a higher pivot let say at 102 than we define it as uptrend.

Defining Down trend -
When we get lower pivot lows, we say the instrument is in down trend.
Means, suppose in a stock or commodity , there is a pivot low at Rs 1000 and market moves down, forms a pivot low at 990 or lower than we say the instrument is in down trend.
